A high-flying social campaign
The Aeronauts is a visually spectacular epic following two adventurers played by Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones as they soar high into the Victorian skies of London. Our aim was to deliver a campaign that ensured the film was a cinematic event, given the UK was one of only two territories in the world receiving a full theatrical release rather than VOD.
Embracing the thrills, adventure and beloved cast we created a unique digital campaign celebrating the scale of the film and its story for multiple audiences across paid, owned and earned platforms.
What We Did
All journeys are best when teams work together, so we adopted an integrated approach using audience and platform insights to inform our social strategy and eye-catching creative content. In the spirit of the film we developed an aspirational tone showcasing an unmissable adventure, whilst keeping the film’s stars at the forefront.
Recognising the broad appeal of the film we created dynamic assets targeting different audiences across platforms, immersing fans into The Aeronauts’ world. Striking in-world content including interactive stories and beautiful animations were complimented by thumb-stopping, shareable talent videos. Social activity was further enhanced by working with leading influencers on an immersive dining experience, exploring the skies and world cuisines for an unforgettable adventure.
Soaring onto peoples’ social feeds across the country we created over 23 pieces of content strategically targeting four audiences from a paid and owned perspective as well as key exhibitors and partners further amplifying the blockbuster appeal of the film.
Influencer content reached over 1.4 million and coupled with our social strategy the campaign truly took off with our immersive, striking assets reaching over 14 million people, generating over 5 million views resulting in 6,000 shares/retweets and 8,000 reactions.
